Beyond The Stage Homes Celebrates 15 years Serving Waterloo Region!

A message from our CEO:

As the founder and CEO of Beyond The Stage Homes (a division of Style Corporation), I am thrilled to be celebrating our 15-year anniversary. It's hard to believe that it's been 15 years since we started this journey, and I am so grateful to everyone who has been a part of it.

Did you know that BTSH almost closed its doors after only 2 years? I won't bore you with the details, but launching a new business, especially one in an industry that most people have never heard of (2008 be like "what's home staging?"). Through sheer grit and determination, I saw the potential of this business, and the home staging industry, and inched my way to success, studying the needs of the community, and adding the services, and the people, to support these needs. We expanded our offerings to include design services, launched a sister company for home stager certification and continuing education, and I went on to establish a successful business coaching venture and co-authored a book. These achievements are certainly not mine alone though, and none of this would have been possible without the support of so many individuals that believed in our vision and fought alongside me to achieve what we have.

First and foremost, I want to thank my amazing team. We've seen some changes over the years, but we wouldn't be here if not for each and every one of you that is presently on the team, and those that have gone on to pursue other opportunities. Your dedication, hard work, and creativity have helped to make Beyond The Stage Homes the success it is today, and I am so grateful for you all.

2022 Reflections – A new division, a growing team and a lot to celebrate!

2022 Reflections – A new division, a growing team and a lot to celebrate!

2022 started with a renewed spirit. It was indeed a year of new opportunities for Beyond The Stage Homes. Our top priority for 14 years has been to provide high-quality home staging and design solutions and a premium experience for our clients. It is this philosophy that guides our every action and decision, and this motivation brought us to the creation and development of our own in-house renovation division.

Living Through Renovations

Living Through Renovations

It can be easy in our busy, everyday lives to ignore the overdue updates needed in our homes. That is until we are forced to spend a whole lot of time there. Enter 2020, the year we stayed home. If you are like most people, you probably found that things that were once a mere annoyance (the kitchen cabinets that don’t quite close right, the bathroom tiles that are from 1970, or the open-concept office space you’ve set up) were now in desperate need of attending to.

Whether you plan to live in your home for a few more years or several decades still, taking care of these much-needed updates can be a great investment into your future, and there has never been a better time to renovate your home. Planning a renovation is exciting, and the end results are always worth it, but the road to transformation is not always a smooth one. Here are a few tips to assist you with planning for your upcoming renovation project.

Marketing A House That's For Sale

Marketing A House That's For Sale

The key to top sales is a solid marketing plan – this means identifying your target market, understanding their needs, creating an impactful marketing message, and presenting a quality product. You need to make the sale all about the person that you are trying to sell to.

So, what does this mean for selling your home?

Everything…

Home staging is an effective marketing technique that integrates decorating with marketing and creates an experience for home buyers. It’s about more than just furnishing a home – it’s about selling a lifestyle! In order to present a “product” that your potential buyers will want, invest in a home staging consultation, and if needed, hire a home stager for additional services, including furniture, artwork, and accessory rental, to complete the look. By working with a home stager, you can identify and address all buyer perceptions, positive or negative, and ensure the most positive experience possible.

BTSH Reflects on 2017

BTSH Reflects on 2017

As another year comes to a close, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on the past 12 months, and peer through the looking glass at the year ahead. We want to thank you for continuing to be a part of our journey, and look forward to another year serving the residents of Waterloo Region.

So what made this year so fantastic? Here are just a few things that happened at Beyond The Stage Homes - thank you for being a part of it!

January - Shauna Lynn Simon and Jennifer Roth attended the biggest home staging industry event in North America, RESACON in Las Vegas, where they continued to develop their skills and build relationships. In addition, Beyond The Stage Homes’ sister company, SLS Academy, was honoured as a finalist for Most Innovative Product for their Client Care Package, a staple in all BTSH consultations since inception.

The Dos and Don'ts of Hiring a Designer

The Dos and Don'ts of Hiring a Designer

DO

Provide information regarding your style

  • This may be magazine photos, Pinterest pins, or physical samples – you don’t even have to know what you like about something, but the more information that you can provide to your designer, the better

Provide Samples

  • If you have already selected any renovation materials, be sure to have samples of those items available for your designer

Provide Creative Autonomy

  • This is something that many homeowners struggle with – remember that you hired your designer for their expert, professional opinion, and there may be times where you will need to trust them to take you outside of your comfort zone.

  • Our goal is to integrate your style with our expertise to create a design plan that you will love for years to come. The more autonomy that we have, the easier it is to create this, but we want to ensure that we do so with your trust and understanding – if at any time you do not feel that you are being heard, or are not comfortable with a decision that has been made, be sure to address it as soon as possible to avoid any issues or unnecessary costs.

  • It’s all in our head - we understand that you may not always be able to see what we see! Sometimes, you may simply need to take a leap of faith and trust, but if this is something that you are not capable of, ask, and we will do our best to provide a visual representation of our vision.
